Kia ora & welcome
After 25 years exhibiting and developing my art practice - alongside curating, teaching, writing and arts management - I’ve fallen in love with drawing again.
This website shows my recent work using metalpoint and other media. My current focus is on observational drawing of botanical forms and, more broadly, the intertwining of plant life with heritage, culture and industry.
Alongside drawing I make my own art materials such as pigments and ink, and often use these investigations to expand my work, sometimes exhibiting material experiments as part of the final artwork.
I particularly enjoy research, collaboration, art-science projects, and making a mess in my Ōtepoti Dunedin studio.
Thanks for visiting my corner of the world.
